Goals:
Dr. Ma. Gerlia Aujero-Blanza is a native of Duenas, Iloilo. Her father and mother are both public servants who instilled in her the culture of hard work, perseverance, and passion making her to become a goal oriented person.

Dr. Blanza is a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Food Technology from the University of the Philippines in the Visayas- Miagao, Iloilo, and worked as a quality controller and product development personnel in Taster’s Food and Columbia Candy Factory right after graduation in 1995. The calling to become a teacher had landed her to become a basic education teacher at Colegio San Agustin, Binan, Laguna from 1997-1999. She had taught in the Tertiary level from 2000-2008, in Colegio del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus and De Paul College and had finally landed an opportunity at WVSU-Lambunao Campus in June 2008 as a part time instructor.
Dr. Blanza started to embrace the SUC academic life in 2009 , with which she had decided to pursue advanced studies and enrolled in the Master of Science in Business Administration - with specialization in Hotel and Restaurant Management at Philippine Women’s University – Taft Manila. She graduated in the said program in 2013 and immediately enrolled to become an academic doctor in the same school year. She finished the program with the degree Doctor in Business Management- with specialization in Hospitality Management from Philippine University in 2016.
As a faculty and researcher, she climbed up the ladder from Instructor I -Associate Professor V after 4 NBC cycles. She had author a book titled , “ Handbook for Academic Researchers: a Modular Approach” which was published in the university publishing house and bookstore in 2018. Her passion in research had sprung with her most valued research work – the Darag Native Chicken Empanada which was able to bring her several awards and nominations for awards in the local, national , and international milieu.
Dr. Blanza is also an inventor, and the most promising of her work in the System for Making Pastry which is also an offshoot of her previous studies about Darag Native Chicken Empanada . This invention is ready for prototyping this year , in preparation for take off for commercialization next year.
Dr. Blanza is also the 2021 WVSUs outstanding researcher, and this gave her the courage to inspire especially the early stage researchers to conduct research . And as the Director of the Office of Research, Innovation, and Extension of WVSU-LC, she was able to project the culture of research among her constituents which made them gain trust in her capacity to bring all the best for WVSU-Lambunao Campus.
